Diesel Concert Lounge Grand Opening

Detroit, MI- In a reversal of the recent trend of Detroit area music venues closing their doors, the Diesel Concert Lounge exploded onto the scene this past Saturday night, delivering a much needed breath of fresh air to the struggling music scene. With Iconic venues like Harpo’s, Emerald Theatre, Hayloft, & TNT’s vanishing faster than today’s “Chart Toppers”, the arrival of this new venue is a welcome sight as hundreds filed through the doors of this spectacular new lounge. Built inside the Premier Center located on 23 Mile east of I-94, The Diesel Concert Theatre is the brain child of 2 of the eastside’s biggest concert diesel concert lounge 001promoters, Owner Joe Sgroi & managing partner Mike Scott. Sgroi also owns the Ritz in Warren, and Scott spends his off-time touring the country with his band Critical Bill. Together they have transformed the old Diamonds & Spurs bar into one of the areas best intimate clubs aimed directly at those National and Regional Touring acts that would normally bypass the region. “Think of it as if the Machine Shop & The Hayloft had a bastard child, you’d end up with The Diesel Concert Lounge”, says Scott who adds “we can accommodate 500 guests in this room, and when we’re finished with it, the Premier Theatre will hold 700”, referring to the soon to be completed 2nd concert venue inside the old Premier Movie Theatre room which is currently being reconfigured to hold events that require extra capacity.

Saturday’s more than sold out opening Gala transfixed the music community with a menu style night, which included an appetizer of Hip-Hop from Mic Lordz & Sauce Funky, a toast of Pop/Rock from Kaleido, and featured a main course of Detroit Infused Funk from the Howling Diablos, followed by a sweet filled desert of rap from Detroit’s own HUSH, To top it all off, Rich Pyle from Hardcore Pawn (& local band Superlast) was on hand as the Guest Host, check out all the action in the Dr2 Photo Gallery HERE.diesel2ndromm
