Sponge Delivers Rotting Piñata.

SpongeMt. Clemens, MI- Another epic night of musical history went down at the historic Emerald Theatre in Mt Clemens this past Saturday Night as Detroit’s own Sponge revisited their 1994 breakout album, playing Rotting Piñata in its entirety, and in track listing order before a sold out crowd that infiltrated the entire downtown area all night long. An entire evening of entertainment sent a vibe through the air reminiscent of what is usually reserved for the annual Detroit Music Awards.

Bret Michaels Thrashes The Emerald!

Phot by Joe Orlando JrIn what was nothing short of spectacular, Bret Michaels brought his Get Your Rock On tour to Mt. Clemens this past Saturday night and nearly destroyed the Emerald Theatre in the process! There was certainly that big time feeling as soon as you exited the your car, with tour busses line-up behind the Emerald that we haven’t seen since the like of Kid Rock kicked off his 2007 Rock N Roll Jesus tour on this very stage. The most amazing thing to see was that by 8pm, the Emerald was

Bones, Thugz, N Harmony

Tuesday night the Emerald Theatre in downtown Mount Clemens saw a host of local up and coming rappers take the stage as openers for Cleveland’s legendary hip hop group Bone Thugs N’ Harmony.

The show was opened by Mount Clemens’ own Venomiz who, despite early microphone troubles, managed to pull out a energetic set that was highlighted by closer “Reality”.

1,700 Attend Gala

But when it’s The Emerald Theatre’s Tenth Birthday, look out cus the entire Michigan Made Music community is coming out to celebrate, and it isn’t going down anywhere other than inside the Emerald Theatre itself! With an itinerary longer than the Detroit Music Awards, the Emerald was locked cocked and ready to rock by the time the night’s “house band”, the Howling Diablos took to the stage to get the party rolling with their unique Detroit blend of funky rock & roll, setting the vibe for the night that would turnout to be thee biggest Michigan Made Music Love Fest ever imagined

Dr2 Re-Launch Party

newlogoIt's not often that we get a chance to toot our own horns, but we must say that the "New & Improved Dr2" Website Re-Launch Party was a huge success, thanks to nearly 500 of you who helped us celebrate in typical un-abashed Detroit Rock & Roll Style! Whoa, what a throw down! With a super-sized line-up featuring some of Detroit's hottest acts, the Emerald Theater came alive as we unleashed the brand new format for our website, bringing with it an extremely user-friendly interface, while making it much more interactive, laying a solid foundation for many more upgrades and features along the way!

Crofoot on Fire

Friday the 13th's are usually reserved for superstitions, horror stories, and slasher films, but for Bat on Fire, it's the perfect excuse to throw an extraordinary rock & roll party with some of Detroit's hottest bands and a few hundred of their closet friends. With a line-up the featured such acts as Avarice, Potty Mouth Sissys, Six Months Gone & Pangea hitting the stage starting at 5:30, Dr2 rolled into the Crofoot as Mansfield Park was just ending their set, and was immediately took back by the number of people in attendance. Great to see so many fists in the air, as well as so many familiar faces in the crowd, a positive sign that despite all the negative rumors floating around out there, people will still come to a "Quality Show" when given the chance.
